Fulani Groups Endorse Kwara APC Governorship Candidate, Pass Confidence Vote on Gov AbdulRazaq

Fulani socio-cultural organisations in Kwara have endorsed the governorship candidacy of Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Yakubu Danladi Salihu for the 2027 election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The endorsement was announced by a former Special Adviser on Strategy to Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Abdulsalam Atiku, during a meeting attended by leaders of Miyetti Allah, Gam-Allah, Jamu Naati Fulbe and other Fulani associations.

Atiku said the decision followed extensive consultations among stakeholders and was aimed at sustaining the achievements of the AbdulRazaq administration.

He described Danladi as a leader with the experience, competence and vision to consolidate ongoing developmental programmes across the state.

“Our support is founded on the expectation that his administration will promote inclusive government where every community has a sense of belonging, strengthen security across the state, modernise and expand nomadic education infrastructure, empower pastoralists, farmers, youths and encourage youth and women development, and promote peaceful coexistence as the foundation for sustainable growth and prosperity,” Atiku said.

He urged members of the Fulani community and other stakeholders to remain united and work for the success of the APC in the 2027 general election.

Atiku expressed confidence that the party would record another electoral victory, similar to those of 2019 and 2023.

In a related development, the Fulbe Development and Cultural Organisation (FUDECO), Kwara State Chapter, passed a vote of confidence on Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation, its Chairman, Hon. Saliu Umar Sanda, commended the governor for what he described as inclusive leadership and developmental achievements across the state.

Sanda said the Fulani community appreciated the administration for giving it a sense of belonging through the appointment of qualified members into strategic public offices.

“On behalf of the Fulani communities and associations in Kwara State, we reaffirm our confidence in your leadership and respectfully assure Your Excellency of our continued support for your administration and the progressive ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC). We equally wish to state that we will continue to stand by and support candidates presented by our great party at the national, state, and local levels, while working tirelessly to promote peace, unity, and progress within our communities,” Fulbe Chairman promised.

He also praised the government’s investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment and rural development.

According to him, the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development demonstrates the administration’s commitment to strengthening the livestock sector and enhancing its contribution to the state’s economy.

Sanda reaffirmed the support of Fulani communities for the AbdulRazaq administration and pledged continued loyalty to the APC and its candidates at all levels.

He appealed to the governor to sustain programmes that would expand opportunities for the Fulani community through appointments, empowerment initiatives, education, agriculture and livestock development.

The FUDECO chairman prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, wisdom and good health for the governor as he continues to lead the state.

Speaking in the same vein, the Ardu Baruten, Alhaji Hassan Yusuf, commended the APC over the choice of Engr Yakubu Danladi Salihu as its gubernatorial candidate, saying the Kwara North deserves the ticket for its loyalty and in the interest of equity, fairness and justice.
