Odo Lokan Ambassadors Commend PDP For Zoning House Of Reps Ticket To Omu-Aran

The Odo Lokan Ambassadors have commended the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for zoning the House of Representatives ticket for the Irepodun/Ekiti/Isin/Oke Ero Federal Constituency to Omu-Aran, describing the decision as fairness and equity.

In a statement signed by Hassan Abdulateef of Oro 2, Irepodun Local Government and made available to 9japarrot media, the group said the zoning aligns with the political realities within our federal constituency and with the long-standing advocacy of Barrister Joseph Titilope Emmanuel, popularly known as Amofin Akogun.

“This decision reflects fairness, equity, and a proper understanding of the political realities within our federal constituency,” the statement said.

“It also aligns with the long-standing call by Barrister Joseph Titilope Emmanuel who has consistently advocated for justice and the rightful zoning of the seat to Omu-Aran throughout his consultations and ward-to-ward political engagements.” He added.

The group noted that Amofin Akogun remained steadfast despite doubts during consultations.

“At a time when many dismissed his position and wrote him off, Amofin Akogun remained steadfast, believing that VICTORY for the party, and political inclusiveness would ultimately prevail. Today, that conviction has been vindicated,” it said.

The Odo Lokan Ambassadors further declared support for Amofin Akogun as the party’s candidate, citing his electability and acceptability.
“Beyond zoning, Odo Lokan Ambassadors firmly believe that Amofin Akogun remains the most electable aspirant to lead the PDP to victory,” the statement added.

It highlighted Omu-Aran’s 53 polling units and Irepodun’s voting strength as the largest bloc in the federal constituency, arguing that presenting a credible lawyer, philanthropist, 2 time House of Assembly Aspirant who is widely accepted within the PDP and even in the APC and grassroots-oriented candidate from Omu-Aran significantly strengthens the PDP’s chances of winning the seat.

The group also cited Amofin Akogun’s record in community development, youth empowerment, educational support, philanthropy, and consistent engagement across all four local government areas, adding that his acceptability cuts across political, religious, and social divides.

Quoting scripture, the statement said: “Indeed, the timeless saying has come to pass: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.’”

The Odo Lokan Ambassadors congratulated PDP leadership for this courageous and strategic decision and pledged to mobilise support across every ward and polling unit for a PDP victory in 2027.

“We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to mobilising support across every ward and polling unit to ensure a resounding victory for Amofin Akogun and the People’s Democratic Party in the 2027 general elections,” the statement concluded.
