Kwara State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Sunday Fagbemi, has stated that opposition political parties in the state are already unsettled by the ruling party’s statewide consultative visits to traditional institutions and key community stakeholders.
Speaking on Tuesday during a political mobilization summit organized by the SYD Unique Women Grassroots Mobilization at Idofian Town Hall in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Fagbemi declared that the overwhelming public reception accorded party leadership demonstrates that the APC remains the party to beat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing hundreds of women delegates gathered under the theme “One Kwara Project, One Voice: Women Driving APC Victory 2027,” the state party chairman clarified that while formal election campaigns have not officially commenced, current engagement tours serve to appreciate stakeholders and showcase key developmental achievements.
“The opposition is already jittery over the ‘Thank You Visit’ commenced by our party days ago in appreciation of all stakeholders and traditional rulers. This reaction shows clearly that the APC has positioned itself as the party to beat come 2027.
“It is pertinent to emphasize to this gathering that the party is yet to commence official campaigns, as official campaigns for Presidential and National Assembly candidates will kick off later in the month of August. However, our activities show that we are fully prepared to promote the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope agenda, alongside the unprecedented strides of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as we rally round the actualization of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD) in 2027.” Fagbemi said.
The event, led by Prince Sunday Fagbemi alongside members of the APC State Executive Committee, brought together prominent party candidates and local government leaders, including APC State Women Leader Hajia Falilat Ronke Mohammed, Prince Lekan Adewoye LAF, APC Kwara South Senatorial Candidate, Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye, APC House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency; Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi, APC House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti/Irepodun/Oke-Ero/Isin Federal Constituency, Hajia Ganiyat Sanni, Coordinator of SYD Unique Women Grassroots Mobilization, all APC Aspirants in Kwara South among others.
Party leadership at the summit seized the opportunity to direct delegates to deepen grassroots engagements and consolidate voter structures across Kwara South ahead of the official campaign flag-off later in the month.
