APC Oro Kingdom Holds Interfaith Prayer Session for Party Candidates’ Victory Ahead of 2027 Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oro Kingdom, comprising Oro Wards I & II in Irepodun Local Government Area, has organized an interfaith prayer session to seek divine support and ensure total victory for all party candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The event, which took place at St. Andrew’s Catholic Hall in Oro on Thursday brought together key party stakeholders, political appointees, candidates, and community leaders.

The sessions featured Christian and Islamic prayers officiated by Pastor E.S. Olatunji and Alh. Imam Lukman Abdsalam Akolade, respectively, upholding Oro Kingdom’s tradition of pioneering spiritual intervention for political candidates ahead of major polls.

Delivering the opening remarks, the Irepodun Local Government Council Secretary and Chairperson of the APC Oro Kingdom Prayer Committee, Hon. Musa Mujidat Folashade (Shade Farmer), commended the committee for its steadfast commitment and emphasized the impact of the current administration.

She stated that the party remains the only political platform with the genuine interest of the masses at heart, noting that under the leadership of the Governor, Oro Kingdom has witnessed unprecedented achievements in infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, and execution of people-oriented projects.

“Our collective efforts are required to support all candidates in the forthcoming general election to sustain these dividends of democracy” she added.

Hon Ben Duntoye, former Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communication in Kwara State, in his address admonished party members to embrace Unity and Cohesion. He stressed that the congresses are over and the time has come for all members to be united, adding that personal grudges must end, and focus should be on the success of the party.

Duntoye urged members to work for and support all APC candidates from President to Governor, Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly.

“There is no room for selective voting,” he said.

“We cannot say ‘I will support this one and leave that one.’ The so-called _‘Rainbow Coalition voting’_ is anti-party and alien to us in Kwara. APC is the party to beat. Let us maintain our leadership.” He added, warning that anti-party activities are dangerous.

“Anyone who engages in anti-party will not be trusted. They know you were never with them. The opposition has been out of government for almost eight years. If they return, God forbid, they will first settle their old members. Newcomers will get nothing.” He said

Hon Duntoye charged every stakeholder to focus on ‘Operation: Deliver Your Polling Unit’, stressing that performance at the polling unit level will determine recognition and appointments in 2027.

He also called on members to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for zoning the Governorship ticket to Kwara North while appealing to all aggrieved members to show the spirit of sportsmanship, assuring them that there will surely be another opportunity for everyone.

Former General Manager of Kwara TV and 2027 APC Senatorial Aspirant, Hon. Oyeyiola Olatunde Michaels (OLAAT) also reiterated his full alignment with party supremacy, remarking that his experience in government gives him a clear picture of progressive leadership.

He charged members to conduct a comparative analysis of Kwara’s past and present administrations while pledging his personal resources to support all victorious party candidates.

On his part, APC Stakeholder Hon. Cyril Agbara (Power) in his goodwill message encouraged grassroots mobilization across all wards ahead of the forthcoming general election.

Prominent party figures and representatives across the constituency reiterate support for the initiative and the party’s platform with the APC House of Reps Candidate for Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi, ably represented, the Vice Chairperson of Irepodun Local Government Area, Mrs. Abolude Rebecca Funmilayo, commending the Oro community for the initiative while assuring the party of continuous support .

The event was graced by the APC Irepodun Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Ibrahim Kawu, Irepodun APC Secretary Prince Bode, APC Candidate for Irepodun State Constituency Hon. Olayinka Solace, Ward Councilors, and executives from Oro APC Wards I & II.

The interfaith prayer gathering concluded with a unified pledge from party leaders, executive members, and grassroots supporters to return to their respective communities and deliver a block vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
