The Agbamu Descendants Union (ADU) has finalized arrangements to host its 2026 annual Free Medical Outreach, aimed at delivering comprehensive healthcare services to indigent residents across Agbamu and neighboring communities in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The flagship community health intervention is scheduled for Sunday, December 27th, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Agbamu General Hospital.
In an official statement made available to 9japarrot, ADU President, Engr. Olalekan Balogun, stated that the multi-million naira health intervention is structured to benefit thousands of individuals, including youth, women, and the elderly in the host community and its environs.
The 2026 outreach will feature an expanded suite of medical screenings, consultations, and treatments:
- Comprehensive Health Check-Ups & BMI Assessments
- Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar Level (BSL) Screenings
- Retroviral Screening (RVS) & Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Tests
- Eye Examinations and Distribution of Free Prescription Eyeglasses
*Free Cataract Surgery - Prostate Cancer Screening (Newly Introduced)
Highlighting the addition of prostate cancer screening, Engr. Balogun noted that expanding diagnostic coverage reflects ADU’s resolve to address emerging health challenges through early detection and targeted care.
The ADU leadership commended long-standing financial partners, medical volunteers, and donors whose continuous backing has sustained the healthcare initiative over the decades. The union also appreciated the community leadership and residents for their enduring support and cooperation.
Reaffirming the union’s mission, Engr. Balogun emphasized that ADU remains dedicated to funding impactful health interventions that ease financial pressure on vulnerable households and foster preventive healthcare habits across Kwara South.
He encouraged residents of Agbamu and surrounding settlements to turn out en masse to take advantage of the free medical services.
