Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is mourning the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
The actress announced his death on Friday, October 2, 2026, in an emotional post shared on her social media platforms.
Chioma said she struggled to find the right words to describe her grief, referring to her late father as her “daddy,” “papa’m,” “obara’m” and “comfort.”
Reflecting on the loss, the actress recalled that she lost her mother 13 years ago and said her father’s death has now left her without both parents.
“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord.
“I lost my mother 13 years ago and now that my father is gone, the thought that I have neither parent here anymore breaks my heart in a way I cannot fully explain. So na only me bayi?”
Despite her pain, Chioma expressed gratitude that her father lived a long life and was able to witness the growth of his children and grandchildren.
She also cherished the memories they shared, particularly during the final period of his life, noting that no amount of time with a parent ever feels sufficient.
The actress said she had kept the death private while taking time to process her grief. She appealed to the public to remember her, her siblings and the entire Chukwuka family in their prayers.
Chioma added that details of her father’s funeral arrangements would be announced by the family at the appropriate time.
Her mother, Grace Egoyibo Chukwuka, died in May 2013.
