Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has said she would end a serious relationship if she developed stronger attraction towards another person.
The singer made this known while responding to a woman facing a similar dilemma on her Ask Ayra Starr show.
Ayra Starr said that if she found herself in such a situation, she would break up with her current partner rather than pursue a relationship with both men simultaneously.
According to her, being involved with two people at the same time is not ideal, adding that taking time away from relationships could help an individual understand their feelings better.
“If I’m in a serious relationship with a guy and then I find another guy more attractive, I would break up with him instead of dating both of them at the same time. I don’t think you can love two people. I think you need time to yourself so you can figure it out,” she said.
The singer also advised her fans not to abandon their friends after entering romantic relationships.
She stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between friendships and romantic relationships, while warning against partners who attempt to isolate their significant others from friends.
“You should never abandon your friends because you are in love. Your partner should not isolate you from your friends because you are in a relationship. There should be a balance between friendship and relationship in love,” she added.
