FEDPOFFA Rector, Mgt. Team Visit Sen. Ashiru, Assures Partnership At Vocational Centers


The Deputy Senate Majority leader and the Senator Representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Senator Oyelola Ashiru, played host to the Federal Polytechnic Offa management team, today at his Offa residence.

The management team, led by the rector Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE, congratulated the senator for his new attainment in office and commends his effort towards the development of the polytechnic.

In his words, Dr. Kamoru solicited for infrastructural buildings, which include, Hostel construction , road construction of the permanent site, procurement of Bus, among many others, to enhance the students’ efficiency and to make both staff and students transportation hassle free.

He further appeal to the senator to intervene in the encroachment of the Polytechnic permanent site and herding at the institution premises, which poses a threat to the institution security.

Also speaking, the Polytechnic Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Soko, highlighted the projects and activities of the Rector since assumption, the achievements which include Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center Development, creation of additional 15 new departments, approval to commence Open and Distance Flexible e-Leaning.

The Senator, who is also a fellow of the Polytechnic, in his reaction, applauded the management team and tagged the institution the highest citadel situated at his constituency, stressing that, the Polytechnic has made tremendous impact in the landscape of Kwara State.

He assured to give all necessary support and assistance to facilitate the needed projects the institution is seeking for.

The senator further, seeks for collaboration to coordinate and put into usage the vocational centers in Kwara South, through the skills development center of the institution.

The senator promised to visit the institution for an on the spot assessment of the infrastructure, and the security breach.

In his response, Engr. Dr. Kadiri assures the lawmaker of the Polytechnic’s readiness to partner in the Cordination of the vocational center and to give total support in the area where needed.

Subsequently, the management team through the Registrar presented the compendium of requests for intervention.

Other Principal Officers present include: the Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Salmon Ishaq, Deputy Rector Academics, Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Bolajoko Aliyu, the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Femi Rasaq Quadri, the Bursar, Mr. Azeez Amidu among others.
