In a decisive move to solidify the political scenery of the Southeast ahead of the 2027 general elections, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has convened a high-level strategic stakeholders’ meeting at his country home in Igbere, Abia State.
The gathering on March 13, brought together the core leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside the state’s most formidable grassroots networks, the OUK Movement and the Reality Organisation. This assembly marks a significant step in the Senator’s ongoing efforts to harmonize party structures and ensure a unified front for the upcoming electoral cycle.
The primary focus of the engagement was the sustained mobilization of the grassroots to support the Renewed Hope agenda and secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Senator Kalu, a seasoned political strategist, emphasized that the path to victory lies in absolute unity and discipline within the party. He noted that when support structures work in lockstep with the formal organs of the APC, the party becomes an unstoppable force.
His message was clear: the collective goal is not just to maintain a presence but to secure a comprehensive victory for all APC candidates across the board in 2027.
The meeting was attended by a diverse array of influential political figures, reflecting a broad-based coalition. Notable participants included the APC State Secretary, Tohukwu Avajah; the State Woman Leader, Cecilia Erondu; and Hon. Ifeanyi Ogbonna. Significantly, the meeting also featured Hon. Chinedu Orji, the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and current state chairman of the City Boy Movement, signaling a robust alignment of various pro-Tinubu interest groups under one umbrella.
Senator Kalu’s recent activities underscore a regional diplomatic offensive aimed at national stability and political cohesion. Just twenty-four hours prior to the Igbere summit, the Senator visited Enugu to meet with his mentor and former Governor of Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo. Their discussions spanned the welfare of elder statesmen and the current state of the nation. During that visit, Kalu continued his advocacy for the presidency, rallying support for President Tinubu’s vision of a more prosperous and united Nigeria.
By bridging the gap between veteran political leaders and grassroots mobilizers, Senator Kalu is effectively positioning the APC as the primary vehicle for development in Abia State. The synergy between the Reality Organisation and the OUK Movement provides a ready-made platform for effective campaigning, ensuring that the federal government’s achievements are communicated directly to the people. As the 2027 momentum builds, Kalu’s proactive leadership serves as a vital anchor for the party’s ambitions in the Southeast, proving that strategic preparation is the cornerstone of future success.
