The aspiration of Hon. Ahmed Babajide Olanrewaju (Abono) to represent Irepodun Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly received a significant spiritual and traditional boost as he received the royal blessings of his ancestral monarch, the Alaran of Arandun, Oba Ibikunle Olapade Adekanye.
The leading All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, accompanied by his campaign team and supporters, visited the palace to formally present his intent to the traditional council and seek the guidance of the throne.

Receiving the aspirant Oba Ibikunle Olapade Adekanye alongside the Alaran-in-Council, commended Olanrewaju for his decision to step into the political arena to serve his people.
The monarch noted the long-standing contributions of the Olanrewaju family to the development of Arandun and Irepodun Local Government at large.
Oba Ibikunle offered prayers for the aspirant’s success, urging him to remain steadfast in his “Covenant of Service” and to prioritize the welfare of the grassroots if given the mandate.
Speaking during the visit, Olanrewaju reaffirmed that his entry into the race was a continuation of the selfless legacy established by his father Alhaji Yusuff Olarewaju (Sir K) and his vision for a better Irepodun Constituency for all, emphasizing that the royal blessing was a sacred pillar for his campaign, signaling unity between the political class and the traditional institution.
“Standing before my father, the Alaran, is a moment of deep reflection. I am here not just as an aspirant, but as a son ready to deploy my professional experience and global networks to bring the dividends of democracy back home,” He said.
9japarrot reports that with the royal endorsement secured in his home base Olanrewaju has successfully fortified his primary support base as he prepares to engage stakeholders across the other wards of Irepodun Constituency.
