Makanjuola Meets Kwara South Elders, Gets Endorsement in Ifelodun, Isin for Senatorial Bid

APC Kwara South Senatorial Aspirant, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola Peter on Thursday secured the blessings of the Kwara South APC Elders Caucus and successfully rallied party stakeholders across Ifelodun and Isin Local Government Areas.

The consultation tour, which saw the Omu-Aran-born politician engaging the district’s most influential political structures, focused on his extensive legislative experience and his commitment to a people-oriented representation at the Red Chamber.

The day’s activities began at the Secretariat of the Kwara South APC Elders Caucus, where Hon. Makanjuola met with the district’s senior leadership.

In a move that reflected deep respect for traditional political hierarchy, the aspirant noted that he was there not to campaign, but to seek parental guidance and blessings.

The Chairman of the Elders Caucus, Chief J.B. Ayeni, commended Makanjuola for his humility and track record. Describing him as an experienced and productive legislator, Chief Ayeni expressed strong confidence in his capacity to provide quality representation based on his previous tenure in the House of Representatives.

“I have come to meet my fathers and mothers to seek blessings over my aspiration,” Makanjuola said while addressing the caucus.

“If entrusted with the mandate, I will deploy my legislative experience and capacity toward the growth and development of our district.” He added.

Following the elders’ engagement, the campaign train moved to Ifelodun for a strategic session with APC stakeholders from the 18 wards of Ifelodun Local Government.

Addressing the gathering, Makanjuola highlighted his resume as a legislative veteran citing his two terms in the Green Chamber, his role as Deputy Chief of Staff to a former Senate President, and his previous appearances on the state’s gubernatorial ballots.

“My track record in public office speaks for itself,” He said adding that he made meaningful impacts during his time in the House of Representatives, and he’s ready to do even more as a Senator while urging for their support.

The tour concluded in Isin Local Government where the aspirant was received by the APC Chairman, Hon. James Abogunrin.

The reception in Isin was marked by a formal pledge of support from the local party structure.

“Isin is your home and we receive you with love,” Hon. Abogunrin said in his remarks.

“We assure you of our unwavering support; the APC structure in Isin Local Government will work towards the success of your aspiration.” He added.

With the completion of visits to Offa, Oyun, Ifelodun, and Isin, 9japarrot reports that Makanjuola’s campaign is benefiting from a snowball effect across Kwara South. His focus on inclusive leadership and his son of the soil appeal appear to be consolidating his position ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.

As he concluded the day’s engagements, Hon. Makanjuola urged members of the  Gbenga Makanjuola Support Group to remain united, stressing that the victory at the primaries would be a collective win for a more progressive and inclusive Kwara South.
