Ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election in Kwara State, a formidable political pressure group, Kwara South Women for Danladi, has officially declared its unwavering support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi.
At a high-stakes strategic meeting held on Tuesday, the group vowed to execute an aggressive, grassroots mobilization campaign across the entire Kwara South senatorial district to secure a decisive victory for the party at the upcoming polls.
Beyond grassroots mobilization, the group issued a passionate appeal to all APC gubernatorial aspirants who contested the ticket. Recognizing that internal friction could hamper the party’s prospects, the group urged all former contenders to put aside their differences and unify behind the Danladi-Salihu ticket to ensure the ruling party retains the state.
”The primary elections are over, and the choice of the party must be respected if we are to sustain the progress of Kwara State,” Hon. Abibat Abioye stated. “We call on all aspirants to merge their structures, embrace reconciliation, and rally behind Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi. Unity is our ultimate strength.”
The meeting brought together influential female political organizers from the key local government areas (LGAs) that comprise the Kwara South Senatorial District. The coordinators emphasized that women represent the highest voting demographic in the state and outlined plans to establish voter-sensitization at the ward and polling-unit levels.
The declaration was solidified by the signatures of the key regional coordinators driving the movement.
