A delegation of political stakeholders from Kwara North Senatorial District on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Kwara Central Elders Caucus to express profound appreciation for their support and solidarity in the emergence of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.
The Kwara North delegation, which comprised members of the State Executive Council, members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen, party leaders, and other critical stakeholders from the senatorial district, was led by Hon. Salihu Baba Boriya.
The visit was aimed at appreciating the elders of Kwara Central for their unwavering support, understanding, and commitment to the principles of equity, inclusion, and party unity, which contributed significantly to the emergence of a candidate from Kwara North.
In their separate remarks, Alhaji Kobe, Engr. Musa Yeketi, and Alhaji Bibire Ajape, speaking on behalf of the Kwara Central Elders Caucus, lauded the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for making the aspiration of a Kwara North governorship candidate a reality. They described the development as a reflection of the Governor’s sense of fairness, inclusive leadership, and dedication to strengthening unity across the state.
The elders further assured the visiting delegation of their commitment to work tirelessly towards ensuring the victory of the APC at the polls in 2027, emphasizing the need for all stakeholders to remain united behind the party and its candidate.
According to them: “Danladi is our son, and he has also been good to our own son, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. As Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, he has demonstrated uncommon loyalty, maturity, and leadership. Throughout his tenure, he has maintained a cordial and productive relationship with the Executive Arm without any record of rancour, thereby contributing immensely to the stability and success of this administration.”
The elders noted that Rt. Hon. Salihu Danladi’s track record of loyalty, humility, competence, and commitment to the ideals of the APC makes him a worthy standard-bearer for the party.
Speaking on behalf of the Kwara North delegation, Hon. Salihu Baba Boriya expressed appreciation to the Kwara Central Elders Caucus for their support and confidence in the candidacy of Rt. Hon. Salihu Danladi. He noted that the visit was not only to express gratitude but also to strengthen the bond of unity and cooperation among stakeholders across the three senatorial districts.
He reaffirmed the commitment of Kwara North leaders and stakeholders to continue working harmoniously with party leaders and members across the state in order to consolidate on the achievements of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration and secure a resounding victory for the APC in the 2027 governorship election.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by both the Kwara North delegation and the Kwara Central Elders Caucus to deepen collaboration, strengthen party cohesion, and sustain the developmental strides currently being witnessed across Kwara State under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
