The Kwara State Banquet Hall was packed with party faithful on Thursday as political leaders, government officials and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged for a high-level stakeholders’ engagement organised by the One Kwara Project 2027.
The event brought together party leaders, stakeholders, and members from the state’s 16 local government areas to reaffirm their commitment to unity, equity, and victory ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Delivering the opening remarks, Hon. Mohammed Baba Salihu (Boriya), Member representing Okuta/Yashikira State Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, described the gathering as a significant step toward strengthening the One Kwara Project.
He expressed appreciation to party faithful for their unwavering support and loyalty, saying the engagement was organized to further consolidate the ideals of unity and inclusiveness within the APC.
Hon. Baba Salihu commended
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his commitment to fairness and internal democracy, which he said created the enabling environment for the emergence of the APC gubernatorial candidate for Kwara State.
He also paid glowing tribute to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, describing him as a leader whose administration has delivered developmental projects across all parts of Kwara State while promoting equity, justice, and inclusion.
According to him, Governor AbdulRazaq demonstrated uncommon courage and statesmanship by supporting the emergence of Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu (SYD) as the APC gubernatorial candidate, a move he described as a reflection of fairness and a commitment to ensuring that every part of the state has a sense of belonging.
Hon. Baba Salihu further acknowledged the contributions of the APC National Working Committee, the State Working Committee led by Prince Sunday Fagbemi, party elders, members of the National and State Assemblies, local government chairmen, commissioners, councillors, political appointees, youth and women wings, and party coordinators across the state’s 193 wards.
He emphasized that the emergence of the party’s gubernatorial candidate was the result of collective sacrifice, loyalty, and belief in the One Kwara vision, adding that the people of Kwara North remain grateful for the confidence reposed in them.
Calling for sustained unity among party members, the lawmaker urged stakeholders from Kwara North, Central, and South to work together toward delivering a decisive APC victory in the 2027 general elections.
He added that One Kwara Project is the rallying vision of the party’s Gubernatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu-Danladi, for an inclusive, united, and progressive Kwara under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, the Executive Governor of Kwara State.
Also speaking at the event, Alhaji Husman Sarafa Patigi stressed that the APC remains one united family and called on members to continue supporting the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
He described the governor as a man of integrity who has fulfilled his promises through equitable distribution of development projects across the state. According to him, no local government in Kwara has been left without the impact of the present administration.
Sarafa Patigi further applauded Governor AbdulRazaq for zoning the APC governorship ticket to Kwara North noting that the district had never produced a democratically elected governor since the creation of the state. He said the decision reflects the governor’s commitment to justice, equity, and fairness.
He urged APC members to remain united and steadfast in supporting the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu (SYD), with a view to sustaining the achievements of the AbdulRazaq administration.
“We must stand together as one family, support the mandate, and ensure continuity of the good work being done in Kwara State. United we stand, and together we shall achieve greater success,” he said.
The stakeholders’ engagement ended with a renewed commitment by party leaders and members to strengthen internal cohesion and mobilize support across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
