Candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, led by the party’s governorship candidate and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, has commenced a statewide “thank you” tour across the Southern Senatorial district of the State.
The delegation, which included the Kwara State APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, party Chieftains, and support groups, kicked off the tour in Ekiti Local Government Area before proceeding to Oke-Ero Local Government Area.
Marking the commencement of the tour, the APC train visited the palaces of the Olosi of Osi and Chairman of the Ekiti Council of Chiefs, Oba Saliu Abdulkareem Adasofegbe , as well as the Alofa of Ilofa and Chairman of the Oke-Ero Council of Chiefs, Oba Samuel Niyi Dada.
Several traditional rulers from both local government areas were also present to receive the party leadership.
Addressing party supporters during a town hall meeting in Ekiti, Danladi expressed gratitude to the residents for their steadfast support during the party’s primary elections and urged them to remain committed ahead of the general elections.

“We are starting this tour in Ekiti as a mark of honour for our party Chairman. We are here to thank you for what you did during the party primaries and seek your continued support for all our candidates, from our presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, down to the State House of Assembly,” Danladi said.
He assured the gathering that the APC leadership would not take their support for granted, promising to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration.
“We will sustain the good legacies of Governor AbdulRazaq, particularly in critical infrastructure, inclusive growth, human capital development, and respect for traditional institutions. Please, let us talk to our neighbours particularly those who have missed their way to return to the winning team. The train is still open so that everyone can be carried along,” he added.
In his remarks, the APC State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, highlighted the developmental milestones recorded in Kwara South under the present administration, citing the completion and operational takeoff of the Kwara State University Campus in Osi and the reconstruction of the Osi-Obbo-Aiyegunle road.

Fagbemi noted that reciprocating these strides with an overwhelming vote at the polls would be an act of gratitude.
“Ekiti Local Government has witnessed unprecedented growth since the creation of Kwara State. We now have a functioning university campus, and the government has fixed the Osi-Obbo-Aiyegunle road, reducing travel time from over two hours to just ten minutes,” Fagbemi stated.
Also speaking, the lawmaker representing Ekiti Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly and House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel, appreciated his constituents for their loyalty to the ruling party and urged them to maintain their support in the 2027 elections.
Similarly, the Kwara South Senatorial candidate, Prince Lekan Adewoye, praised the residents of Ekiti and Oke-Ero for their consistency, promising to prioritize the needs of the constituency if elected.

Party leaders in the region, including Elder Dele Aina and Engr. Ogunmola, declared that Ekiti LGA remains an APC stronghold, pledging full support for all party candidates in the upcoming elections.
Responding, the Olosi of Osi and the Alofa of Ilofa commended Governor AbdulRazaq for transforming the state over the last seven years.

The monarchs, alongside other royal fathers present, offered royal blessings for the candidates and urged them to prioritize public welfare when given the mandate.
