Women leaders, community organizers, and party faithful from across Kwara South Senatorial District gathered at the Idofian Town Hall in Ifelodun Local Government Area on Tuesday for a political mobilization summit designed to consolidate grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Organized by the SYD Unique Women Grassroots Mobilization under the theme “One Kwara Project, One Voice: Women Driving APC Victory 2027,” the gathering focused on expanding voter outreach, organizing neighborhood structures, and backing APC candidates at all levels.
The summit attracted prominent political stakeholders, state executives, and candidates from across the senatorial district, including Prince Sunday Fagbemi, Kwara State APC Chairman (leading the State Executive Committee); Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye, APC House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency; Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi, APC House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti/Irepodun/Oke-Ero/Isin Federal Constituency; and Council Chairmen from Ifelodun and Isin Local Government Areas, along with local government party executives.
Opening the summit, the Coordinator of SYD Unique Women Grassroots Mobilization, Hajia Ganiyat Sanni, explained that the initiative was established to build an unbroken grassroots network capable of delivering decisive voter turnout for all APC candidates in 2027.
Delivering her goodwill message, Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi highlighted the central role of women in Nigerian elections, praising Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for prioritizing gender inclusion in governance, while urging women to return to their respective wards and promote the candidacy of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD) to sustain the developmental foundation laid by the current administration.
In his keynote speech, State APC Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi noted that the political opposition is already unnerved by the party’s recent statewide “Thank You” tours to traditional institutions, demonstrating that the APC remains Kwara’s dominant political force.
Fagbemi clarified that while formal campaigns for Presidential and National Assembly candidates will officially launch later in August, current outreach efforts aim to highlight the structural gains of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda alongside Governor AbdulRazaq’s local achievements, charging the assembly to channel their collective influence toward securing total victory for SYD and all APC flagbearers in 2027.
