The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the full restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) following a temporary disruption.
In a statement issued on Monday, the board said CAPS was “fully restored and is now operational,” urging tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the approved deadlines.
JAMB advised institutions to take advantage of the restoration of the system and intensify their admission activities, while candidates were urged to promptly accept admission offers made to them.
The board announced that the deadline for the 2026/2027 admission exercise for public universities is October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30, 2026 to conclude their admissions.
Meanwhile, JAMB asked candidates who had previously been awaiting their examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results.
According to the board, the step is necessary to ensure that candidates’ credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.
JAMB said the temporary disruption was regrettable, while appreciating candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
The board urged all stakeholders to proceed with the admission exercise within the approved timelines following the restoration of CAPS.
