APC Crisis Deepens as King Aare Abandon Party in Offa

The All Progressives Congress has lost one of its grassroots political organisers in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State following the resignation of a former ward secretary, Comrade Areoye Nurudeen, popularly known as King Aree.

Areoye, a registered APC member in Essa B Ward, Offa, announced his resignation from the party in a letter dated October 2, 2026, addressed to the ward chairman and routed through the APC chairman in Offa Local Government.

In the letter titled “Letter of Resignation from All Progressives Congress (APC),” and made available to 9japarrot, Areoye said his decision was taken after consultations with his family, friends, political associates and supporters across Essa B Ward, Offa Local Government and Kwara State.

The former ward secretary, who has been involved in party activities at the grassroots, expressed appreciation to the APC leadership at the ward, local government and state levels for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the party over the years.

“Kindly accept this letter as formal notification. I wish the party well in its future endeavours,” he stated.

Areoye’s resignation comes as political activities and alignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His departure is expected to attract attention within the political circles in Essa B Ward, particularly given his previous role as ward secretary and his network among party members and supporters in the area.

The former APC official did not disclose in the resignation letter the specific reasons for leaving the party, nor did he indicate his next political destination.

He signed the letter as Areoye Nurudeen, former Ward Secretary, Essa B Ward, Offa Local Government.
