Over 100 APC Members Defect to NNPP in Kwara

No fewer than 100 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin, Kwara Central Senatorial District, have defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The defectors were formally received at the NNPP state secretariat along Asa Dam Road in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Hajia Zururat Romoke Zubair, running mate to the NNPP governorship candidate, Prince Adetoyese Omokanye, represented the flagbearer at the reception.

The new members were welcomed into the party by key state executives, including the State Chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Lamidi (popularly known as Shoku); State Secretary, Abdullahi Mohammed Nasamu; and State Woman Leader, Mrs. Abolarinwa Afusat Temitope.

Receiving the defectors, the party leadership stated that the influx of new members reflects growing momentum for the party in Kwara Central and will bolster its grassroots network.

The NNPP executives charged the defectors to integrate with existing party structures across their respective wards to build a formidable platform capable of securing victory in the 2027 polls.
