Traditional rulers and political stakeholders from the Kwara North Senatorial District of Kwara State have pledged their unalloyed support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commitment was made during the Kwara North Traditional Rulers and Political Stakeholders Engagement, held in Bode Saadu, Moro Local Government Area, under the theme: “Kwara 2027 Project.”
The high-level engagement brought together royal fathers, political office holders, prospective candidates, and APC chieftains from across the five local government areas of Kwara North.
Speaking at the event, the Etsu Patigi and Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, lauded the political progress recorded by Kwara North.
He noted that the emergence of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD), as the APC governorship candidate has given the people of the district a strong sense of representation ahead of the 2027 election.
Etsu Bologi urged residents across Kwara State to support Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his administration’s developmental strides while backing Danladi as his preferred successor.
He further called on party members to maintain unity to guarantee total victory for the party.
Corroborating his colleague, the Emir of Okuta, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Idris Abubakar Serobetete III, reminded the public that Kwara North had historically supported governorship candidates from other senatorial districts, expressing optimism that Kwara Central and Kwara South would reciprocate the gesture in 2027. He pledged the traditional institution’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Danladi, and all APC flagbearers.
Also speaking, the Emir of Tsaragi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa Goshi II, reaffirmed his royal backing for the APC governorship candidate, describing Danladi as “our son” and pledging to lead grassroots mobilization across his domain.
In his remarks, the APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, expressed profound gratitude to the traditional rulers and stakeholders for their backing, guidance, and goodwill.
Danladi commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for addressing longstanding infrastructural and social challenges in Kwara State, while also thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership.
He expressed confidence that the APC would sweep the 2027 general elections at both the state and national levels.
