All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain and former Executive Chairperson of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Dr. Muheebah Dankaka, OON, has vowed to reclaim her mandate following disputes over the party’s Kwara South Senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dr. Dankaka made the declaration on Saturday while hosting her political structure and loyalists across the seven local government areas of Kwara South at her residence in Offa.
Addressing the gathering, the former FCC boss condemned what she described as attempts to tamper with her primary election win and sabotage her candidacy.
She urged her supporters to maintain calm, stay hopeful, and remain within the ruling party.
“It is not over until it is over,” Dr. Dankaka assured her followers, emphasizing that she is pursuing the recovery of her mandate through lawful party and legal channels.
She reaffirmed her unalloyed loyalty to the ruling APC, instructing her followers not to defect but to register, collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and mobilize votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s governorship flagbearer, as well as its House of Representatives and State Assembly candidates.
However, Dr. Dankaka specifically exempted the Kwara South Senatorial campaign from her call to action, directing her supporters to withhold campaign support for the paraded senatorial candidate, whom she accused of attempting to usurp her mandate.
Speaking at the meeting, former two-time Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Engr. Jide Usman, attested that Dr. Dankaka won the primary election convincingly.
Usman argued that fielding an Ibolo/Offa candidate aligns with the demographic realities of Kwara South, given Ibolo’s high voter turnout compared to areas in Ifelodun currently affected by security challenges.
Also speaking, the Director-General of the Dr. Muheebah Dankaka Senatorial Campaign Team reiterated that no formal zoning arrangement exists in Kwara South, expressing confidence that justice would prevail in favor of their candidate.
