Kale Kawu’s Campaign Gains Traction in Gwanara, Okuta — Baruten LG

The governorship ambition of Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu received a major boost on Sunday as residents of Gwanara and Okuta in Baruten Local Government Area turned out in large numbers to receive him.

The visit, which drew youths, women groups, commercial motorcyclists and community elders, was marked by a carnival-like atmosphere, with supporters chanting solidarity songs and displaying branded materials.

Speaking during the tour, Engr. Kawu, who is aspiring for the Kwara State governorship seat in 2027 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said his agenda is centered on youth empowerment, agricultural revolution, development of border communities, quality education and inclusive governance for Baruten and Kwara North in general.

Some youth leaders and women in the two communities described his blueprint as people-focused, noting that Baruten, despite being the largest LGA in the state, still requires more attention in terms of infrastructure and economic inclusion.

Kawu told the crowd that his campaign is built on ideas and long-term planning rather than short-term inducements, assuring that Baruten would be given priority in his development agenda if elected.

The tour of Gwanara and Okuta is part of his ongoing consultations across Kwara North ahead of the 2027 general elections.
