NPFL: Rangers Shift Focus to Rivers United After CAF Champions League Exit

Rangers International have shifted their attention to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11 fixture against Rivers United following their elimination from the CAF Champions League.

The Flying Antelopes crashed out of the continental competition after suffering a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Algerian side MC Alger.

With their continental campaign over, Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men will now focus on domestic football as they prepare to face Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

The Enugu-based club will be looking to recover from their disappointment and strengthen their position in the NPFL title race.

Rangers confirmed their focus on the upcoming encounter in a post on their official X handle, stating: “Focus shifts to the next battle! We travel to Port Harcourt to face Rivers United FC in our next NPFL fixture. The quest for those crucial three points continues.”

Rivers United currently lead the NPFL standings with 17 points from 10 matches, while defending champions Rangers also have 17 points, with two games in hand.
