Kwara-Born Tpl. Kazeem Adebayo Dadanla, Mnitp Inducted Into Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria of Nigeria

 

Tpl. Kazeem Adebayo Dadanla Mnitp, a renowned youth advocate and urban planning practitioner, originally from Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, has been officially inducted as a certified member of the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC).

The induction ceremony, the 38th of its kind, saw Dadanla and other newly qualified town planners inaugurated at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Center, FCT Abuja, on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

TOPREC, established by the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CAP T7, LFN 2004), is the statutory body responsible for regulating and controlling the practice of physical planning in all its aspects across Nigeria. Town planners play a crucial role in helping communities, companies, and political entities make informed decisions on land and building usage, with a core aim of achieving sustainability by balancing social, environmental, and economic considerations.

Speaking during his induction, Tpl. Kazeem Adebayo Dadanla, Mnitp expressed his delight, describing the moment as the beginning of another historical achievement in his professional life.

“I’m happy to witness this day, and I am so delighted to be inducted as a member of the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria.” He said.

Dadanla further pledged to uphold the ethics and guidelines of the professional body and to do everything within his reach to promote its ideologies.

The induction ceremony was graced by notable personalities, including Alhaja Medinat Adetutu Omobolanle Akinyemi-Obe, the Director General of the National Senior Citizens Centre, Abuja; Hon. Mohammed Funsho Abdullahi, Chief of Staff to the Hon. Minister of Youth Development; and Prince Ademola Dadanla, Deputy Apex Leader of Coker/Aguda LCDA, who is also the father of the inductee.

Also in attendance were Dr. Ibrahim Adebayo Yusuf, the Deputy National President of Ansar-ud-deen Society Worldwide and Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-deen Society, Abuja Branch; Prof. Musa Adeyemi Olaofe, Associate Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Abuja.

Profile of Tpl. Kazeem Adebayo Dadanla:

Tpl. Kazeem Adebayo Dadanla is described as a seasoned Urban and Regional Planner with a profound dedication to public service, youth advancement, and community development. Born and raised in the Coker/Aguda Local Government Area of Lagos State, he has consistently demonstrated professional excellence, leadership capacity, and civic responsibility throughout his career.
His academic journey includes a Master’s degree (M.Sc) in Urban and Regional Planning from Nasarawa State University, Keffi (2025), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2022). He also holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning from the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa (2016), an Ordinary Diploma in Project Management, an Executive Diploma in Disaster Risk Management, and completed a program in Nature Connectedness from the University of Derby, United Kingdom. He obtained his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) from Government College, Surulere Lagos, in 2003 and has participated in various leadership and capacity-building workshops.
Professionally, Tpl. Kazeem began his career as a Town Planning Officer and currently serves as a Senior Technical Officer (Town Planning) with the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Bwari Zonal Office, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), FCT, Abuja.
He has contributed actively to several strategic and developmental committees, including serving as the present Secretary-General of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, FCT.

He was also a member of the Departmental Representative on the Ministerial Committee for the Elimination of Open Defecation in FCT and holds memberships in the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Society of Landscape Architects of Nigeria (SLAN), American Planning Association (APA), and Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). He is also the Founder of PEER Action and Charity Foundation (PEER Action).

Tpl. Kazeem Adebayo Dadanla is affiliated with several professional bodies and civic organizations, including: Member, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Professionals Forum, and Member, National Youth Mobilization Directorate (North Central), APC Presidential Campaign Council.

Tpl. Kazeem Adebayo Dadanla is a dedicated family man, blessed with children, and remains active in professional, political, and religious communities.
