…Constituency Projects Focus on Sustainable Energy to Drive Economic Growth
Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial district, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru has concluded a major constituency intervention, providing sustainable energy solutions to business owners and traditional institutions in a significant effort to enhance productivity and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots.
The intervention, announced by the Senator’s media office earlier the week in a terse statement made available to 9japarrot Media, focused on tackling the challenge of unreliable power supply by deploying solar technology across the district.
As part of his commitment to supporting constituents, particularly the business community, the Lawmaker facilitated the distribution of 1KVA solar generators to 100 business owners within the district.
The initiative aims to provide reliable and cost-effective power, enabling SMEs, the backbone of the local economy to sustain operations, reduce fuel reliance, and increase productivity.
Similarly, in a complementary move to enhance rural infrastructure and respect for traditional institutions, Senator Ashiru successfully completed the installation of robust solar power systems in five prominent palaces across the senatorial district, with each palace receiving a dedicated system featuring a 10.2KVA solar inverter powered by eight 12-volt tubular batteries and 20 solar panels.
The beneficiary palaces include:
– Olupo of Ajase Ipo Palace (Irepodun LG)
– Aloffa of Illofa Palace (Oke-ero LG)
– Onira of Ira Palace (Oyun LG)
– Oniganmo of Ganmo Palace (Ifelodun LG)
– Owa L’obbo of Obbo-Ile Palace (Ekiti LG)
Senator Ashiru stated that these efforts will not only provide sustainable energy to the palaces, which serve as centers for community administration but also enhance overall economic stability in the areas.
The lawmaker reiterated his committment to driving development and supporting the well-being of his constituents.
