2027: Nurudeen Owoniyi Pays Homage to Elese of Igbaja, Receives Royal Blessings

Real Estate Broker and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olaitan Nurudeen Owoniyi on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to the ancient town of Igbaja, where he sought the royal blessings of the Elese of Igbaja, His Royal Majesty, Oba Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo III.

The visit which comes ahead of the 2027 political cycle was marked by a private “father-to-son” conversation between the monarch and the Igbaja-born philanthropist.

Owoniyi, accompanied by his political associates, emphasized that the palace remains a moral compass for anyone seeking leadership.

Speaking during the visit, Owoniyi noted that his consultation and engagements was rooted in deep respect for traditional institutions, adding that no “son of the soil” should aspire to a political portfolio without first seeking the guidance of the monarch.

He highlighted parts of his vision for the constituency, noting that the Ifelodun, Oyun, and Offa Federal Constituency needed a representative different from the norms someone with the right requisites to bring quality representation to the people through youth empowerment, technological innovation, industrial growth, legislative focus through sponsoringpeople-oriented bills, and rural development.

Responding to the delegation, the Elese commended Owoniyi for honoring the traditional institution and for prioritizing dialogue and peaceful engagement in his political consultations and engagements.

The revered monarch reminded the aspirant that leadership is defined by responsibility and service rather than force.

“If your intention is to lift the people of our Federal Constituency, may the ancestors guide your steps and may God bless your ambition with favor,” the monarch said while showering his royal blessings on him.

Owoniyi’s bid is backed by a robust professional and political pedigree. As an alumnus of the University of Lagos with a background in Economics spanning through Accounting, he has built a reputation through international business exposure and public sector service over the years.

Notably, is the son of the late Alhaji Abdulrahman Owoniyi (Ajikobi of Igbaja Land), a respected elder statesman and close associate of the late Pa Obafemi Awolowo and many other notable politicians.

His accessibility, capacity, and long-standing relationships within the corridors of power serves as the primary reasons he is positioned as a formidable candidate for the constituency among other aspirants.
