Hon. Segun Olaoye Officially Declares for Federal House of Reps Seat

•• Unveils Four-point Agenda to Strengthen Legislative Performance in Irepodun/Ekiti/Isin/Oke-Ero

Prominent philanthropist and the Babalaje of Oro Kingdom, Chief Oluwasegun Michael Olaoye has officially declared his intention to contest the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The declaration, held at the Mucenty Hotel in Omu-Aran and covered by 9japarrot media saw thousands of party faithful, youth groups, and women leaders fill the venue to capacity, signaling strong grassroots momentum for the 2027 race.

In his declaration speech, Olaoye emphasized that the challenges of poverty and underdevelopment do not discriminate based on tribe or local government.

He urged the constituency to prioritize effective representation over sectional sentiments.

“Whether we are Ekiti or Igbomina does not matter. We are all one people,” Olaoye added.

“What matters more to our people is having a very good representative in Abuja, not where he comes from. I need you to give me an opportunity to show you that we can do it better.” He said.

A loyalist of the ruling party, the aspirant outlined a four-point commitment aimed at strengthening the APC’s roots in the four local government areas:

1. Party Supremacy: A pledge to protect the party’s interest and align the constituency with the “Renewed Hope” agenda.

2. Quality Legislation: Initiating bills specifically designed to protect farmers and support traders.

3.Federal Presence: Leveraging local and international networks to attract tangible infrastructure projects to all four LGAs.

4.Open-Door Policy: Establishing functional APC constituency liaison offices in each LGA to ensure constant interaction with members.

The event featured a series of goodwill messages from key political figures who lauded Olaoye’s long-standing dedication to community development.

The APC Chairman for Irepodun LGA,Hon. Kawu Ibrahim and a former Kwara State Commissioner Hon. Ben Duntoye both commended the aspirant for his philanthropic gestures, noting that he has consistently served the people without holding a public office.

Other stakeholders who spoke included the Isin LG Vice Chairperson Hon. Ganiyat Sanni, Sir Bisi Olohuntoba and Hon. Odeyemi Samuel (Oro Ward II Chairman).

The Babalaje of Oro Kingdom described his ambition as a collective assignment, promising that under his leadership, the dividends of democracy would reach every ward. He called on party elders and leaders for their blessings, vowing never to disappoint the trust of the progressive family.
