The Kwara State G15 Political Movement has reaffirmed its unity and commitment to the pursuit of a more inclusive, accountable and responsive governance in Kwara State, dismissing claims of division within the group and the wider OTOGE Progressive family.
In a statement signed by its members, the group said it remained focused on its shared objectives and would not be distracted by what it described as speculation, misinformation or attempts to create divisions among its members.
The G15 said its vision remained anchored on a Kwara where opportunities are based on merit rather than family connections or individual influence, while decisions affecting the people are reached through meaningful consultation with critical stakeholders.
According to the group, no individual, family or narrow interest should determine the destiny of the state, stressing that the collective interest of Kwara must take precedence over personal ambitions.
The movement also reaffirmed the relevance of the Rainbow Coalition, describing it as a platform for bringing together individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds who share common convictions about the future of the state.
The G15 said that, as the political season progresses, it would continue to engage constructively with political stakeholders and those seeking public office, with such engagement guided by their programmes, commitments and alignment with the principles of inclusive governance, accountability, competence and service to the people.
It added that its political engagement would remain anchored on the interest and welfare of Kwara State.
The group also called on Kwarans to remain actively engaged in the democratic process, urging citizens to look beyond rumours and political distractions, examine issues carefully, ask questions and demand clear commitments from those seeking public office.
“Kwara belongs to all of us, and its future must be shaped by the collective aspirations of its people,” the group stated, urging citizens and stakeholders to participate constructively in the political process.
The G15 further said it would continue to engage with stakeholders, build bridges and work with those who share its conviction that Kwara should have inclusive governance, accountable leadership and a political environment in which every citizen has a voice.
The statement was signed by 14 members of the G15, including Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe, Senator Yisa Oyelola Ashiru, Senator Suleiman Sadiq Umar, Senator Saliu Mustapha, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, Muhammed Dele Belgore, SAN, Alh. Ahmed Yinka Aliko, Dr. Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi, Dr. Azeez Muideen Salako Olaniyi and Capt. Ahmed Mahmud.
