•• Says His Gubernatorial Ambition is a Done Deal By Allah’s Will
Tsaragi Emirate Youth under the aegis of Tsaragi Youths in Politics (TYIP) on Sunday hosted a special thanksgiving prayer session in honor of Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin and Senator representing Kwara Central.
The event, held at the Emi Ndamagbo House (Residence of the Vice Chairman, Tsaragi Traditional Council), was organized to celebrate the Senator’s recent appointment as the Tabariki’n Nupe by the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR.
Beyond the thanksgiving for the prestigious traditional title, the gathering took a definitive political turn as clerics and community leaders openly supplicated for the success of Senator Mustapha’s gubernatorial aspirations ahead of 2027.
Leading the spiritual session, the Acting Chief Imam of Tsaragi Emirate, Sheikh Ndagi Almiskeen described the Senator’s ambition as a done deal by Allah’s will. He lauded Mustapha’s unmatched philanthropic contributions, which he noted have left indelible marks across all three senatorial districts of Kwara State long before he entered the National Assembly.
The event featured a rare assembly of all prominent Imams across the Tsaragi Emirate led by Sheikh Alh. Abdullahi Zakariyawu Liman Kpotwo (Head of Imams in Tsaragi), the clerics included Liman Jola, Liman Tsakama, Ndaliman Magbo, Shaaba Liman Sakaman, and Shaaba Mediu General.
The session featured the recitation of the Al-qunut (Special Qur’an Recitation) and the ceremonial slaughtering of a ram to mark the completion of the thanksgiving prayers.
In his remarks, Mr. Saidu Giwa urged the religious leaders to remain steadfast in their prayers for the Senator, emphasizing that his leadership style fosters unity between the Nupe heritage and the broader Kwara interest.
The Co-Convener of the group, Abubakar Adam in his remarks said the gesture reflects their deep appreciation for the Senator’s leadership and his strengthening ties with their heritage.
“We are not just celebrating a title, we are reinforcing our commitment to a man who has consistently shown he has the heart for our people.” He said.
He expressed gratitude to Etsu Nupe for finding the distinguished Senator worthy of the Prestigious title while also thanking Etsu Tsaragi for giving the Youths the enabling environment to celebrate him.

The event reaffirmed the growing grassroots momentum for Senator Saliu Mustapha as political stakeholders continue to weigh options for the 2027 governorship race.
