DUNTOYE CONDEMNS ODETUNDUN’S DEFECTION, DESCRIBES IT AS “DEAD ON ARRIVAL”

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Irepodun Local Government Area, Hon. Ben Duntoye, has condemned the defection of Hon. Olushola Odetundun, member representing Irepodun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, from the APC.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Hon. Duntoye described the move as a total disregard for the party that helped him win the 2023 election and a betrayal of trust reposed in him by APC leaders and members across Irepodun.

He further stated that Hon. Odetundun should not forget that he was favoured in 2023 to clinch the ticket, and those who contested with him accepted the outcome in good faith and in the spirit of party unity.

According to him, Odetundun has forgotten that it is the APC that made him relevant politically. He is now full of himself, thinking he can make waves elsewhere. This is simply a case of lack of political experience and spirit of sportsmanship.

Hon. Duntoye further stated that the defection is “dead on arrival” and will have no impact on the strength of the APC in Irepodun Local Government and Kwara State.

“We say good riddance to bad rubbish. The APC is bigger than any individual. We will not miss him,” He added.

Hon. Duntoye urged all APC members in Irepodun Local Government to remain united and focused as the party continues to mobilize for victory in 2027.
