The Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of the Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, over the passing of the 12th Sarkin Gambari of Ilorin, Alhaji Ahmed Yahaya Seriki.
He also commiserated with the Balogun Gambari, Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Adebayo, the family of the deceased, and the entire Gambari community over the painful loss.
Describing the death as a significant loss to the Ilorin Emirate and its traditional institution, Alhaji Gobir noted that the passing of the late traditional ruler had left a void in the leadership of the Gambari community.
In his condolence message, he said:
“The passing of Alhaji Ahmed Yahaya Seriki is a painful loss to the Gambari community, the Emir of Ilorin, and the entire Ilorin Emirate. It reminds us of the transient nature of life and the need to submit to the will of Almighty Allah, who gives life and takes it at His appointed time.
“I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljanah Firdaus, and gives his family, His Royal Highness, the Balogun Gambari, and the entire Gambari community the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
He also prayed for the continued peace, unity, and preservation of the Ilorin Emirate and its traditional institutions.
May Almighty Allah grant the departed eternal rest and comfort all those he has left behind. Ameen.
