A leading governorship aspirant in Kwara State, Dr. Muideen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, has continued to consolidate his growing political strength ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election, following a high-profile visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Offa.
Dr. Salako, who also serves as the Global President of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU), one of the most influential socio-cultural platforms linked to Kwara State, was warmly received by party loyalists, ward executives, local government leaders, and key stakeholders in a strong show of unity and growing political alignment.
The visit, held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the party’s new secretariat in Osunte, forms part of his ongoing grassroots consultations aimed at mobilizing support ahead of the APC governorship primaries.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Salako emphasized the strategic importance of Offa in the political landscape of the state, urging party members to ensure the town presents credible and capable aspirants.
“My aspiration is inspired by the call from my people, who believe I am competent and credible to contest for the governorship seat,” he said.
“As a community leader passionate about youth empowerment, I am confident in my ability to create opportunities for young people and women, while delivering meaningful development across the state.”
He noted that his consultations had already begun at the ward level, adding that his visit to the Offa APC leadership was a formal step in seeking broader party support before proceeding to the state capital for his official declaration.
In a move that underscored his commitment to party development, Dr. Salako donated ₦1 million to party members present and pledged to fully furnish the new APC secretariat in Offa.
He further called for unity among stakeholders, stressing that early mobilization and collective backing for Offa-based aspirants would be critical to securing victory at the primaries.
In his remarks, Offa APC Chairman, Prince Kunle Adegboye, commended Dr. Salako’s dedication to strengthening the party’s structure. He particularly highlighted his contribution to the recent membership drive, which saw Offa’s registration figures rise significantly from 14,000 to 48,000.
“This achievement has moved Offa from 12th to 4th position in the state membership ranking,” Adegboye stated, while urging party members and Offa indigenes across the state to rally behind the aspirant.
The meeting attracted several notable stakeholders, including Hon. Alakija Majeed, Special Adviser on Land to the Offa Local Government Chairman; Engr. Kunle Ahmed; Prince Popoola Musibaudeen; members of the Offa APC executive council; ward chairmen; and a large number of party supporters, further reflecting the growing momentum behind Dr. Salako’s governorship ambition.
