The Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme has concluded its fourth week of activities, with participating schools and centres moving from training to project presentation as preparations for the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Exhibition reach their final stage.
Throughout the week, participants continued to refine the technology driven projects they developed during training to address real world needs in their communities. Instructors also guided students in improving the respective projects.
As part of the preparations for the exhibition, participating schools began presenting their projects virtually to showcase their work. Students explained their ideas, how they built them and the problems they are designed to solve.
Monitoring activities also continued during the week, with the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) team, speaking with instructors and students to hear about their experience of the programme. Students who started the programme as beginners are now standing before an audience, explaining the projects they built with their own hands.
The week’s presentations therefore provided an avenue for young people across Kwara State to turn what they have learnt into working solutions and to grow in confidence. For many participants, the experience showed that technology is not only something to use, but something they can build.
This progress reflects the vision of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON to raise a generation of young people who do not just use technology but create it.
